Welcome to the Optics in Cardiology symposium

Light is changing our view on cardiovascular disease and therapy. Following the successful clinical introduction of optical coherence tomography and near-infrared spectroscopy, several other new techniques are on the verge of translation. The fifth meeting on light-based methods in cardiology: Optics in Cardiology, will be held in Zürich, Switzerland, on April 20–21, 2018.

Across the two days of the symposium, we will provide a forum for the latest breakthroughs in applications of light in cardiovascular medicine, highlighting clinical and technological advances in the field. New this year will be the addition of hands-on workshops with the most recent imaging hardware and software, as well as contributed case presentations. The conference aims to educate clinicians about current practice and new techniques, and expose engineers to first-hand accounts of clinical needs. The program will allow ample time for discussion and interaction with the speakers.

We are currently putting together the program featuring technological, clinical and corporate perspectives. Live cases will demonstrate use of optics in real-world cath practice. A dedicated session will address the development of clinical guidelines for use of OCT. We will reserve a limited number of oral presentation slots for the best contributed abstracts in each conference topic. In addition to the oral program, there will be poster sessions. Participate in the program by submitting an abstract. Submit your abstract online.

This website will be kept current with the latest information. Send an email to the conference secretary to be added to the mailing list.
